INVITATION
The 4th Pan Commonwealth Veterinary Conference takes place from November 4th to the 8th, 2007 in Barbados, West Indies. The conference is being hosted by the Barbados Veterinary Association on behalf of the Canada/Caribbean Region of the Commonwealth Veterinary Association and will be held at Barbados’ Hilton Hotel, conveniently located just outside of the capital city of Bridgetown.
The theme is “Animal Health and Welfare: Continuing Challenges for Veterinarians”. This conference provides an opportunity for veterinarians from the 52 Commonwealth member countries to meet other veterinarians from around the world, discuss issues of common interest and benefit from quality continuing education on a vast range of topics based on a multi-faceted approach. Plenary sessions range from trade issues, food safety, animal welfare, dermatology and allergies in pets to companion animal medicine, aquatic and avian medicine, emerging and re-emerging diseases and practice management. Special topics also include marine mammal strandings, small and large animal otology and ophthalmology, stem cell therapy, animal behavior, exotic animals, fish medicine, bovine medicine, the Barbados Black Belly Sheep and shelter medicine. Our program is extensive, varied and multi-disciplined in an effort to address the interests of all our of visiting veterinarians. In short, we hope to provide topics of interest to all members of the multi-faceted veterinary profession.
The conference venue is the newly renovated beachfront Barbados Hilton Hotel and Conference Centre at Needhams Point, near Bridgetown. The hotel provides luxurious accommodations, a state of the art conference centre with accompanying facilities, within easy reach of all the activities available in beautiful Barbados.
